This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and share your information when you use our services delivered via WhatsApp, our website (astroniyati.in), or any related platform.
By using AstroNiyati's services, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy.
This policy is issued in compliance with the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (DPDP Act) and the Information Technology Act, 2000 (as amended).
INFORMATION WE COLLECT
We collect only the information necessary to deliver our services:
2.1 Personal Information you provide directly:
Full name
Date of birth, time of birth, and place of birth (required for Vedic chart computation)
WhatsApp mobile number
Email address (optional)
The question(s) you ask
Payment details (processed via Razorpay; we do not store card or UPI credentials)
2.2 Information we generate:
Your Vedic astrological chart data
The astrological reading generated for you
Transaction records
Customer service interactions
2.3 Information we do NOT collect:
Government identity documents (Aadhaar, PAN, passport)
Location data or GPS
Contacts, gallery, or any device data
Biometric information
HOW WE USE YOUR INFORMATION
Your information is used strictly for:
Computing your Vedic astrological chart
Generating and delivering your personalised reading
Processing payments and issuing GST-compliant invoices
Providing customer support and handling grievances
Complying with legal and tax obligations
Improving reading quality through anonymised quality reviews
We do NOT use your information for third-party advertising, retargeting, selling to data brokers, profiling for insurance/credit decisions, or any purpose unrelated to delivering your paid service.
DATA SHARING
We share your information only with:
Payment processors (Razorpay) to process your payment
Vedic computation API providers to compute your chart
WhatsApp Business API providers to deliver your reading
Chartered Accountant for GST and tax compliance
Legal authorities only when compelled by valid legal order
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to any third party.
DATA STORAGE AND SECURITY
Your data is stored on encrypted cloud infrastructure. Access is restricted to authorised personnel bound by confidentiality obligations. We follow reasonable security practices as prescribed under Section 43A of the Information Technology Act, 2000. Payment data is handled entirely by Razorpay under PCI-DSS compliance and is not stored on our servers.
DATA RETENTION
Reading records and transaction data: 7 years (tax compliance).
Birth details and personal identifiers: duration of active relationship + 3 years for grievance-handling.
You may request earlier deletion — see Section 7.
YOUR RIGHTS UNDER THE DPDP ACT
You have the right to:
Access the personal information we hold about you
Correct any inaccurate information
Erase your personal data (subject to legal retention obligations)
Withdraw consent at any time
File a grievance with our Grievance Officer
Escalate unresolved grievances to the Data Protection Board of India

CHILDREN'S DATA
AstroNiyati's services are for users aged 18 and above. We do not knowingly collect data from minors. For readings involving a minor's birth details, we apply strict age-appropriate content protocols and do not process paid readings for users under 18.
COOKIES AND TRACKING
Our website uses minimal cookies for basic session functionality and anonymous analytics. We do not use advertising cookies, retargeting pixels, or third-party marketing trackers.
CHANGES TO THIS POLICY
Material changes will be communicated via WhatsApp to active customers and updated here with a revised date.
